“THE CURIOUS PARADOX IS THAT WHEN I ACCEPT MYSELF JUST AS I AM, THEN I CHANGE.”
~CARL ROGERS
Hi, I’m Ryan!
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Columbia, Maryland. For three years I was a counselor/psychotherapist at a community mental health agency in Baltimore, MD. In 2020, I transitioned to private practice, where I offer virtual tele-therapy services in Maryland.
My practice is centered around a therapy called Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), which has transformed my life as a person and a psychotherapist. I am currently a Level 2 Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy Therapist and continue training in this incredible modality. Dovetailing with my training in AEDP, I am certified in Brainspotting therapy, which is an incredible method of promoting healing and growth.
Prior to my time as a psychotherapist, I graduated from Towson University (MD) with both my Bachelor’s of Science degree in psychology and Master’s of Arts degree in clinical psychology. During that time, I spent 3 years as a part-time crisis response phone counselor and a year as a master’s-level trainee providing counseling & psychotherapy services. Since graduating, I have worked as an adjunct professor at Towson University’s Psychology Department, teaching classes on mental health, introductory counseling skills, clinical internship & clinical case conceptualization, and group therapy.
Feel free to check-out my Psychology Today Profile for additional information about my approach.
